Vascular Surgery Associates (VSA) was founded by Dr. Paul Gannon in an effort to bring cardiac and vascular surgery to the northern suburbs of the Twin Cities.
Dr. Craig Walvatne joined this practice in 1996. Prior to this, Dr. Walvatne had worked on the faculty at the University of Minnesota where he taught vascular surgery and wound care to medical students and resident physicians. Additionally, in 1996 he was asked to begin seeing patients at the Red Lake Indian Reservation. He has been going up there to hold a diabetic foot clinic every month since that time.
In 2014, Stephanie Walvatne, joined VSA as a nurse practitioner. Prior to finishing her masters degree and becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as a registered nurse at Unity Hospital for 17 years.
